French Brocade Scallops On The Double

This ruler business is going to make my like more pleasant for a change.

I did a collection in the late 1980s with reversible wool coats that had scalloped edges but wouldn't dare it again. At that time I was  28 years of age with two little daughters to keep track of. I lived in Plano Texas at that time as we had left LA for better bigger housing and a short work commute inside Dallas. Ironically my sewers or I should say my head sewer lived an hour away way outside in a mobile home park. I can't remember her name but she was my miracle at that time in my career. I was fresh out of the Middle East ( Syria & Lebanon) and was exposed to beautiful French clothing and craftsmen ship. My mother had dressmakers while I was growing up and attention to detail was a given. My sewer turned out to be a leading Miss America pageant dress sewer and had wild and unlimited sewing machines and skill. At that time she promised to sew my first collection and produced the best fish wire organza blouses I came up with. The scalloped wool coats she really refused to do again ever... Never...
